Changing up our foundation texture for the cooler times to give added hydration and a dewy finish adds freshness for when skin tends to be drier. Also changing your primer to an enriching serum or illuminating texture can bring new life to dull skin. Here's a few of my favourites in my kit that give a stunning light reflecting look perfect for the season...
Chanel Vitalumiere foundation $86
A classic sheer dewy foundation that gives a gorgeous youthful lift to the face. Great for the natural look as it builds only to sheer-medium coverage. Always my go to for a mature skin as well as dehydrated. Not the longest lasting but perfect to build with a good concealer for longevity.
This is my favourite budget beauty find, looks and feels like several more expensive foundations but a 1/3 of the price. Gives a sheer to medium coverage and needs concealer for extra longevity & coverage but gives the skin a lifted 'woken up' look which I love. SPF 8.
I adore the packaging & convenience of this foundation-who wouldn't want a foundation & concealer in one unit? The top lid contains a full coverage concealer and the bottom the stunning foundation. The overall look is completely flawless, luminous, and a lifted quality to the skin. It's truly one of the rolls royces of the dewy foundation pack! SPF 15.
One of the myths of the Colour Correcting cream is that it only comes in a sheer coverage and is simply not always enough to wear alone. Wrong with this CC; the IT cosmetics base covers exceptionally well (medium to full coverage) and gives a natural dewy not shiny effect to the skin. Has all the benefits of a high level SPF (50) and is rich in antioxidants too. Long wearing and a great plastic squeeze tube so good for the makeup bag.
Hourglass no 28 Hydrating serum $86
My favourite in the hourglass range, the no. 28 serum gives an instant dewy lift to the face, similar to the way skin looks after a facial. The 28 essential oils contained in the serum gives tired, dull skin the glow it needs. Work the serum in really well, like a mini facial massage before foundation (and after moisturiser) and the oils will absorb to allow for foundation application. Also keeps the foundation on for longer as well as giving a creamier look to the base.
A new favourite primer of mine, Dr Jart BB SPF 45 cream. This illuminating cream gives a beautiful natural pearlised appearance as well as taking out any redness or incorrect colour. Skin feels hydrated without looking greasy, and it gives any foundation a creamy, light reflecting look.
